Our graduates work in hospitals, physician offices, emergency rooms, palliative care, long-term care and other health care settings. A BSN can also lead to careers such as school nurse or case manager and provides a foundation for advanced nursing careers, including nurse practitioner, certified registered nurse anesthetist and nursing educator.

High-achieving Montana high school seniors with a 3.5 GPA or higher can apply for direct admission to the clinical portion of the nursing program. Applications to the Nursing Scholars Edge Direct Entry Program are available Sept. 1 through Jan. 15 through eligible students’ 51ºÚÁÏÍø PURLs.

Learn in realistic nursing labs and the Lesar Family Nursing Simulation Center to build skills and confidence. In 2025, the center became the first and only simulation center in Montana endorsed for the Core Four Standards by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning.
Nursing students complete nearly 1,000 clinical hours through skills labs, high-fidelity simulations, community experiences and clinical placements. 51ºÚÁÏÍø partners with more than 35 clinical affiliates across southwest Montana, giving students experience in a variety of health care settings.
Experienced faculty, Career Services and strong industry connections help prepare students for successful nursing careers. 51ºÚÁÏÍø nursing graduates have found employment across Montana and throughout the country. In FY 25/26 51ºÚÁÏÍø students also had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam.
